boardwalks & walkways

Connecting people to the water, its what we do best!

Custom Walkways & Boardwalks

A well-designed walkway does more than simply connect two points—it creates a safe, functional, and attractive path that improves access to the water. Whether winding through wetlands, connecting a home to a dock, leading guests to a pool area, or providing public access to a waterfront destination, a custom walkway is an important investment. We design and construct custom walkways and boardwalks for both residential and commercial applications.

Experienced in Residential & Public Projects

While we proudly serve homeowners throughout Central Florida, our experience extends far beyond residential construction. Our team has successfully completed large-scale boardwalk and walkway projects for municipalities, developers, and public agencies.

Our experience includes:

  • Coastal access walkways and beach ramps over dunes

  • Public boardwalk systems connecting trails

  • Wetland crossings

  • ADA-accessible pathways from parking lots

  • Residential property improvements

  • Community and developer projects

We have constructed boardwalks and walkways for organizations including Volusia County and Tavistock Development Company, as well as numerous waterfront and public access projects throughout Florida. These projects require strict adherence to engineering specifications, permitting requirements, environmental regulations, and accessibility standards—experience that benefits every project we build.

Designed Around Your Property

Every property is unique, which is why every walkway we build is custom-designed to fit its surroundings. Whether navigating elevation changes, preserving mature trees, crossing wetlands, or creating a direct connection to the water, we carefully design each structure to maximize both functionality and aesthetics. They are fully customizable, with almost any feature you could imagine from built in LED lighting systems to built-in seating areas.

Common applications include:

  • Waterfront access walkways with ADA compliant ramps

  • Poolside walkways with non-slip materials

  • Backyard pathways leading to dock structures

  • Wetland boardwalks allowing a dry path

  • Community trails/ Nature observation paths

  • Beach access walkovers following dune regulations

  • Commercial and municipal boardwalks

Built for Florida's Environment

Our walkways are constructed using marine-grade materials designed to withstand moisture, sun exposure, changing weather conditions, and heavy foot traffic. Each material option offers unique benefits, and our team will help you select the best solution based on your goals, maintenance preferences, budget, and aesthetic vision.

Material options include:

  • Marine-grade pressure-treated lumber framing

  • DSS (Dense Select Structural) decking

  • Premium composite decking

  • Galvanized or stainless steel hardware

  • Custom railing systems

Elevated & Environmentally Sensitive Solutions

Walkways and boardwalks must do more than simply provide access—they must be thoughtfully designed to work in harmony with the environment. Our experience constructing projects in wetlands, coastal areas, and environmentally sensitive habitats has given us a strong understanding of the regulations and methods necessary to complete these projects.

For a series of boardwalks we constructed through wetlands in St. Cloud, Florida, our team carefully designed the alignment to weave around mature trees and existing vegetation whenever possible. Where trees intersected the structure, we custom-cut the decking around each trunk, allowing the trees to continue growing naturally through and around the boardwalk while maintaining a safe and unobstructed pathway for visitors.

On a recent ADA beach access project along the Volusia County coastline, environmental stewardship played a critical role in both design and timeline. To protect the surrounding ecosystem and comply with sea turtle nesting regulations, we planned the project schedule around nesting requirements and utilized water jetting techniques to install piles with minimal environmental disturbance. This approach allowed us to complete the project while preserving the sensitive coastal habitat.
